An Energetic 2015 Lecture Series Returns in February!
CT Department of Correction logoThe 2015 lecture series will return in February to delight your scholarly interest in the Connecticut State Prison, correctional reform and the Wethersfield’s involvement in the Pequot War. Monday, February 2 at 7:00 pm we will welcome Patrick Hynes, Ph.D., Director of the Best Practices Unit for the CT Department of Correction.  He will be lecturing on “Corrections in Connecticut and the United States: A Quarter Century of Change.”  Tickets are free to members of Wethersfield Historical Society and $5 to non-members at the door. 2015 Keeney Cultural Series Concerts Continue February 8
The Nifty Fifties Band will continue our Keeney Cultural Series concerts Sunday, February 8 at 4:00 pm.  They will will play and sing selections from the 50’s and 60’s.  Don’t be surprised if people stand up and dance the “Twist”!  Join us in the Keeney Ballroom, 200 Main Street and shake off your winter blues! Castle On the Cove: CT State Prison and Wethersfield Exhibit Open!
 The newest exhibition at the Wethersfield Museum at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center is all about the Connecticut State Prison while it operated in Wethersfield.  View a reconstructed prison cell and explore the history of this state institution.
