Join us on May 5th for a lecture on Connecticut State Prison Guards


Local Prison historian Frank Winiarski will present a lecture on "Connecticut State Prison Guards" on Monday, May 5 at 7pm in the Keeney Ballroom at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center. This lecture will explore the Connecticut State Prison while in Wethersfield, 1827-1963 through thier employees as part of Connecticut Humanities Connecticut at Work yearlong programming.

Doors open at 6:30pm and lecture begins at 7pm. $5 per person at door, free to members.

Hurlbut-Dunham and Cove Warehouse Reopen for Season

The Hurlbut-Dunham House and Cove Warehouse will reopen for the season on Saturday, May 24 at 1pm. Both historic properties will be open free of charge to the public May 24 through October 5, Saturday and Sundays, 1-4pm.

Cove Warehouse Recovery and Rededication

Wethersfield Historical Society regrets to announce that the historic Cove Warehouse at Cove Park, which it operates as a seasonal maritime museum was broken into by thieves. The exhibit in the Warehouse will be reinstalled in time for a reopening celebration on May 24 – the 80th anniversary of the Warehouse’s restoration.
